India is set to debut its own pavilion, India House, at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, marking a significant milestone. This initiative, driven by Reliance Foundation and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), underscores India's growing presence in the global sports arena.
India House, located in the "Park of Nations" at Parc de la Villette, will serve as a base for Indian athletes and a hub for fans. It will offer cultural performances, culinary experiences, traditional crafts, and yoga sessions, providing a rich cultural experience for global visitors. This pavilion aims to enhance India's commitment to the Olympic movement, which began with its first participation in 1920.
Nita M. Ambani, IOC member and Reliance Foundation founder, expressed her excitement, highlighting that India House will celebrate athletes, victories, and India's culture. IOA President PT Usha emphasized that India House signifies India's growth in sports and will be a major attraction at the Paris Olympics, allowing international visitors to learn more about India.
For athletes, India House will offer a supportive environment to connect and unwind, potentially boosting their performance. It will also host watch parties for key Indian events, organized with Viacom18, the official media rights holder for the Olympics in India.
This initiative is also a strategic move to bolster India's bid to host future Olympic Games, showcasing its capabilities in organizing global events to the International Olympic Committee.
